Assumption Arrest Report 1-17-2020

Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the following arrests:
Catherine Nichole Picou, 25, of 113 Ryan Street, Patterson, LA, on charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday.
A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on LA 398 West of Labadieville, LA. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver now identified as Catherine Nichole Picou.
During the interview of Picou, it was determined that she was driving under a suspended driver’s license. Upon conducting a computer inquiry, Picou was identified as a fugitive from St. Mary Parish.
Catherine Nichole Picou was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Fugitive Warrant – St. Mary Parish
*Driving Under Suspension
*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*Speeding
Picou was released to the custody of St. Mary Parish.


Gabriel Talbot, 46, of 136 Bertie Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony gun law violations following an investigative stop on Hardtimes Road.
Upon interviewing the vehicle’s lone occupant, he was identified as Gabriel Talbot. After running a license plate inquiry, it was determined that the Tennessee license plate was not the proper plate for that vehicle.
Deputies noted that Gabriel Talbot appeared to be nervous. As a protective measure, detectives requested permission to search the vehicle which Gabriel Talbot granted.
The vehicle was searched and that process yielded a large caliber handgun. Detectives were informed by the Communications Division that Gabriel Talbot was a convicted felon.
Talbot was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Switched License Plate
Talbot was incarcerated and later posted bond.
