35 Residents and 7 Staff Members Test Positive for COVID-19 at Patterson Healthcare Center

St. Mary Parish Coroner Dr. Eric Melancon has confirmed with KQKI News that as of Monday, 35 residents and seven employees have tested positive for COVID-19 at Patterson Healthcare Center.

Melancon had told KQKI News on Sunday that eight residents were positive.

He said all residents are quarantined and staff members are confined to the isolation unit. Melancon also added that residents and staff are being tested weekly.

Melancon said he is not sure at this time how the residents may have been exposed but it does appear that it may be isolated to one wing of the facility.
