15 Residents and 5 Employees Tests Positive for COVID-19 at Franklin Nursing Home

St. Mary Parish Coroner Dr. Eric Melancon says there are currently 15 residents who are COVID positive and are quarantined to a single unit at Legacy Healthcare in Franklin. Several tests are pending and those residents are in an isolation ward.

There are 5 employees (4 CNAs & 1 LPN) who are COVID 19 positive with three pending employee results. The 3 pendings were quarantined at home as per parish wide protocol. Melancon said he will make a second site visit early next week to reassess the situation and assist with needs including PPE, cleaning supplies and staffing issues.
